Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) wants to hear from you and your community! GO TO 2040's regional comprehensive planning campaign, scheduled for completion in 2010, would not be complete without active citizen participation. CMAP seeks to better understand the .jpg)
everyday experiences of our region's residents by opening up these conversations on a local level. This plan will be built on a common vision of how residents want their region to look for future generations.
Community Conversations are being held in conjunction with the Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) and partner organizations. At these gatherings, we have asked residents like you about their preferences for preserving and enhancing our region's high quality of life. Additionally, CMAP provides tools, programs, and technical assistance to communities through its Community Assistance Program. This program aims to build capacity and improve quality of life for residents
CMAP also piloted a micro-grant program to support local agencies in winter of 2008. Community-based organizations from across the region were contracted to help us get the word out about the GO TO 2040 campaign and help CMAP get input for our region’s vision. These Community Conversations were organized by partners agencies with support from CMAP. The overview presentation (PDF 186 KB) contains links to reports produced by each partner agency on slide four.
