To support the GO TO 2040 plan, CMAP hosted a series of panel discussions to talk about specific regional planning strategies. When complete, the GO TO 2040 plan will recommend that the region undertake a number of prioritized actions, which may be policies, investments, or other types of activities. For the plan’s recommendations to be robust, CMAP needs to have an understanding of their benefits and costs. These panel discussions are intended to help develop this understanding.
The purpose of the discussions is to receive feedback from regional experts on CMAP’s technical analysis of specific planning strategies, and they are geared toward participants with prior knowledge of these strategies. Each discussion is focused on a single strategy, and begins with a presentation from CMAP staff describing the results of our analysis and the underlying assumptions. Participants were asked to comment on the assumptions and results, and suggest ways to improve the analysis.
